[Keirani memoir] - fantasy the catalyst for hope
When I was 12 my mother and father separated. One day my father brought me to the 401 flee market in Barrie Ontario where I found this guy.
(Awesome flee market if you’re ever in the area)
Not very long after my mom got together with her new boyfriend we packed up and left everything behind to move to a new province.
Equipped with only a small backpack ~ My brother and I decided we would bring our most prized possessions: Nintendo64 , Pokemon Cards and this guy who I ended up naming “Chubi”.
~☆~
Fantasy became my catalyst to heal through these many sudden changes.
Finding the silver lining to the situation:
I was often bullied for my love of “childish things” growing up, but now as a mom I'm so grateful that I can make my children's lives more magical by my involvement and awareness of these things.
Despite the sadness of leaving everything behind
(and I mean everything)
I chose to accept what changes were heading my way and became excited to discover what else this life may have to offer in other areas of Canada.
~*~
As adults our choices and actions have such an impact on our children.
It is our responsibility to remember this past so that we can apply our knowledge of the inner world/outer world to our reality.
This was one of many minor moments of trauma in my teenage years ~ and its this lesson I hope to share: Why by our will we can find ways to heal ourselves instead of becoming victim's to illness.
Our culture is naive to many ancient teachings observed in other cultures.
What we suppress stays with us forever, unless we by will ~ Release it~
What we do not forgive and heal still lives within us and transforms us.
Fantasy can be a healing tool from a harsh reality.

the person in the mirror- make the change
So often we glance at the news and feel shame for our species.
Global warming, pollution galore, a focus on money over anything else...
How did this happen?
Surely this is not the world our ancestors dreamed of creating ~
or maybe that's the problem.
Maybe most of our ancestors really never thought past their current situation and struggle?
Maybe they had no blueprint in mind and were just following what they were told was the "proper" way to do things. From Racism, to consumerism what we do is a programmed mentality from our experience in this life.
Our ancestors had no vision, and colonialism had us sent out to take over and consume.
To be fair, they didn't have the internet or indoor plumbing for most of it...
So who can blame them for their short sighted perception of reality?
In this age, we have satellites up in the sky showing us the oneness of our world yet we stick to the old process that is no longer working..
We have student loan debts larger then the job market ~ trapping our children into debt before they can even begin to figure out the full picture.
We have ever rising prices due to inflation, which is really people all slowly collectively raising their prices to get more money and as the minimum wage rises to balance the cost so too does the inflation ever increase.
Success in the business world means a constantly growing profit margin...
Yet one can only cut corners so much to increase this before it will inevitably begin to stay around the same amount.
Such a thing is considered a FAILURE in the business world...
even of one makes record profits...
This is the world we've gifted to the children, and it is not one that is logical nor sustainable.
There is much to consider in the grand equation of life.
Over the years, it seems that we wish to depend on some one else to resolve the problem: Government, business etc...
However it is a personal power issue we need to resolve in our individual selves.
We go to work, we create and set the tone and atmosphere.
It is us who raises our prices to get more money,
it is us who cuts corners to save more money.
Where we shop is how we vote for how the future unfolds in a world where money is power.
The solution will only come if we individually recognize this instead of trying to pass the power to some one else who may abuse it.
Our world is suffering from a lack of responsibility from adults.
This world was designed for children....
Let's put that all together now.
We can do this.
